This Subtle Solutions Alternator Cover is a great upgrade for your Subaru. It fits multiple models including the 2002 - 2014 WRX, 2004 - 2021 STI, 2005 - 2009 Legacy GT (with OEM STI bracket only), 2004 - 2013 Forester XT (09 - 13 with OEM STI bracket only), and 2005 - 2009 Outback XT. Note that it won't fit the 2011 - 2013 FB25 non - turbo motor. The cover is red in color, CAD - designed, and made from 304 stainless steel with CNC pressing and laser cutting. It features anodized (black) aluminum standoffs and washers, and comes with install hardware. Made in the USA, it has a powder - coated finish for corrosion protection and a great look. It directly replaces the factory plastic alternator cover which looks dull. The Subaru OEM STI Power Steering Belt Cover Bracket can be bought separately for applicable vehicles. Before installing, remove the rubber bushing on the bracket. Install the tall spacer through the stock Subaru oem bracket on the passenger - side power steering pump, and the shorter spacer and hardware on the alternator using the Subaru OEM STI bracket.

Using this alternator cover is simple. First, make sure your vehicle is one of the compatible models. If your vehicle requires the Subaru OEM STI Power Steering Belt Cover Bracket, you'll need to buy it separately. Before starting the installation, remove the rubber bushing on the bracket. For the passenger - side power steering pump, install the tall spacer with the bolt and washer through the stock Subaru oem bracket. On the alternator (driver side), use the Subaru OEM STI bracket to install the shorter spacer and the hardware with the clip nut. As for maintenance, the powder - coated finish provides good corrosion protection. But it's still a good idea to keep the cover clean.
