Product Detail

Part #: COP - 527. This amazing tool empowers engine builders to smoothly rotate a whole engine using any 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar. It's a must - have when replacing the timing belt or doing other engine jobs as it helps you easily find the Top Dead Center (TDC). Key features include: a crankshaft rotating socket that slides over the crank snout; the ability to work with or without the oil pump installed; a low - profile design for easy access; no risk of crankshaft snout damage or backwards engine rotation; and it's made of CNC - machined steel for long - lasting use. WARNING: Never use an impact wrench with this crank socket to rotate the engine. Works with 15+ Subaru WRX, 12+ Subaru Impreza (FA/FB Engines Only), 12+ Subaru XV Crosstrek (FA/FB Engines Only), 11+ Subaru Forester (FA/FB Engines Only), 12+ Subaru Legacy (FA/FB Engines Only), 13+ Subaru BRZ, 13+ Scion FR - S, and 12+ Toyota GT86.

Using this crankshaft socket is a breeze. First, just slip the socket over the crank snout. Then, attach any 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar to start rotating the engine. It can be used whether the oil pump is installed or not. When you're replacing the timing belt or doing other engine work, this tool will help you quickly find the TDC. Here are some important notes. Never use an impact wrench with this socket to rotate the engine as it can cause damage. To keep it in good shape, after each use, clean the socket with a dry cloth to remove any dirt or debris. Store it in a dry place to prevent rust. This socket is built to last, thanks to its CNC - machined steel construction, so with proper care, it'll serve you well for a long time.
