- Due to the variety of rotated turbo kits, fitment with every brand can't be guaranteed.
- Some port matching might be needed with CNC or hand - ported cylinder heads.
- Larger throttle bodies can be used with proper modifications and may require adapter flanges.
- It's flanged for 2004 - 2021 STI drive - by - wire throttle bodies, but cable throttle bodies can be used with custom fitting.
- Standard intercooler piping needs mild custom fabrication.
- It uses a common Subaru aftermarket top - feed injector size. We recommend Injector Dynamics brand injectors.
- Standard Subaru style injectors can't be used.
- Not compatible with side - feed to top - feed conversion rails.
- Requires aftermarket rails and lines.
- Not compatible with top - mount intercoolers.
- Custom bracketry is needed to mount the factory upper coolant reservoir.
- The center plenum has four 1/8″ and one 1/4″ NPT ports for vacuum accessories.
**Using Your AMS Intake Manifold**
First, make sure to check the fitment details carefully based on your Subaru model and year. If you have a 2002 - 2005 WRX with EJ20, you'll need to install the adapter for the throttle body. For 2008 - 2014 WRX with EJ25, use the STI - style drive - by - wire throttle body.
When installing, pay attention to the intake runners and plenum. The 13 - inch equal - length intake runners are designed to provide smooth power, so make sure they're properly connected. Also, take note of the port sizes at the cylinder heads. If you're using larger hand - ported or CNC heads, the increased port size on the manifold should match well.
**Maintenance**
Keep an eye on the texture red powder coating. If you notice any chips or scratches, you can touch up the coating to prevent rust. Check the connections regularly to ensure there are no loose parts. The intake manifold uses a common Subaru aftermarket top - feed injector size. Make sure to use the recommended Injector Dynamics brand injectors for the best performance.
**Caution**
Since there are many rotated turbo kits on the market, we can't guarantee fitment with every brand. If you have a turbo kit, check for possible interference with the cylinder 3 intake runner. Also, when using larger throttle bodies, proper modifications and adapter flanges may be required. Don't try to use standard Subaru style injectors as they won't work with this manifold. And remember, you'll need aftermarket rails and lines as the stock ones won't fit.
