Go Fast Bits Short Throw Shifter Subaru WRX 2002-2007

The Subaru WRX and STI are ideal for turbo - charged performance upgrades. But both the 5 - speed WRX and 6 - speed STI have long factory shifters. Subaru offers an upgraded shifter, yet it's expensive and offers little improvement. Go Fast Bits has a great solution! Their short throw kit can reduce the shift throw by up to 40% at a much lower cost than the factory upgrade. The unique linkage clamp design keeps the shifter height the same as stock while slashing the throw to just 25mm per gate (model - dependent). For the 6 - speed STI, some find the shortest adjustment too short. GFB provides a basic 6 - speed shifter kit for a 20% reduction or a full kit for up to 40%. Have the basic kit but want more? Using the Go Fast Bits short throw shifter is easy. First, make sure you've selected the right kit for your Subaru WRX or STI (5 - speed WRX and 6 - speed STI kits are different, so double - check). When installing, follow the included instructions carefully. The shifter will reduce the shift throw, making your gear changes quicker, but the height of the shifter lever and knob will stay the same as the factory setting. For the 6 - speed STI, you can choose between different levels of throw reduction based on your preference. If you have the basic 6 - speed kit and want more reduction, use the 4202 conversion kit.
