Can it be used for daily driving?
ACT's race discs are super aggressive, offering top - notch performance. But the engagement is harsh. Starting from a stop may cause judder or an unpleasant noise. These don't affect the clutch or drive line components. This disc is only for professional racing, not for the street. ACT recommends using an organic disc on the street for a smoother drive and longer - lasting performance.
When to replace the clutch disc?
Most new discs are 0.312 - 0.315 inches (7.93 - 8.00mm) thick. When they're worn down to 0.275 inches (7.00mm) or less, it's time to replace. Some Audi and BMW models start at 0.332 - 0.335 inches (8.43 - 8.50mm) and should be replaced below 0.295 inches (7.50mm). Measure with a micrometer. Puck discs are measured as they are, while organic street discs are measured by compressing the engagement cushion. If the lining rivets touch the flywheel or pressure plate, replace the disc. Using a disc outside the pressure plate's designed thickness range can lead to poor results.

How to use: This ACT 4 - Puck Sprung Race Disc is designed specifically for racing. When installing, make sure to follow ACT's general installation instructions and use an ACT 240mm pressure plate and flywheel as it's a 240mm upgrade. Don't use it for daily street driving as the engagement is harsh and can cause judder or noise when starting from a stop. It's only for professional race settings. Things to note: Measure the disc thickness regularly. Most new discs are 0.312 - 0.315 inches thick and should be replaced when they reach 0.275 inches or less. For some Audi and BMW models, measure differently as described. If the lining rivets on the disc touch the flywheel or pressure plate, it's time for a replacement. Maintenance advice: Keep the disc clean and check for any signs of excessive wear or damage after each race. Store it in a dry place to prevent rust and corrosion. Also, always use a disc within the thickness range the pressure plate is designed for to ensure good performance.
