Part #: TS - SU - 514. The Torque Solution Turbo Sump Restrictor is a must - have for Subaru WRX 2015+ and Forester XT 2014+ owners. After installing aftermarket exhaust components, the FA DIT engine may start smoking or burning oil due to reduced back pressure, causing oil to pass the turbo seals and resulting in a burning oil smell and blue exhaust smoke. Our restrictor restores the proper pressure balance in the oil return system, so you can enjoy a smoke - free and odor - free driving experience. It's crafted from 6061 billet aluminum, black anodized for durability. It comes with two stainless steel clamps and a limited lifetime warranty. Installation is easy: just install it inline on the turbo sump vent hose (arrows facing up) that runs from the turbo sump to the front engine cover. Any spot on the hose is okay as long as there's about 3/4' of hose above and below the restrictor. Proposition 65 requires warnings for Californians about exposure to harmful chemicals. How to use: Install the restrictor inline on the turbo sump vent hose with the arrows facing up. It can be placed anywhere on the hose as long as there's about 3/4' of hose above and below it. Note that Proposition 65 requires a warning for Californians about exposure to harmful chemicals. As for maintenance, since it's made of 6061 billet aluminum and black anodized, it's quite durable. But it's a good idea to check the stainless steel clamps regularly for tightness. If you notice any oil leakage or a return of the burning oil smell and smoke, check the restrictor's installation and condition.
