First, lay out all the parts and use the template to see what's included. It's a good idea to have a friend help you, especially when drilling into the trunk. Clean the surface of the trunk thoroughly before starting. Assemble the wing completely. Use the template and a center punch to mark the three holes you need to drill on each side. Test fit the wing. Once you're happy with how it fits, drill a pilot hole first and then the final hole (three on each side). Put the wing back on the trunk and check the alignment. Remove the spoiler and follow the steps on the template or instruction sheet. Then, do the final install on the trunk. Don't tighten all the bolts completely at first. Just hand - tighten all six bolts loosely. Let the wing settle into position without any tension. Then, tighten each bolt a little more and repeat until all six are snug. The nuts are inserted into the plastic mold during manufacturing. Tighten firmly, but don't overtighten as they're held in plastic. Check the bolts after driving 100 miles and then again after 250 miles. Also, since the new spoiler is heavier, don't slam the trunk. If you've never installed something like this that requires drilling and permanent modification to your car, it's best to get professional help. We're not responsible for cross - threaded studs, bolts, or over - tightened hardware.
