Sticker Fab OLM Headlight Smoked/Black Out Overlays
It's amazing how a simple overlay can totally change the look of your vehicle. By darkening the side of the OLM Headlights, you can eliminate the bright orange sidemarker and make the large lens less obvious.
These overlays cover the side and top of the headlight lens. Note: They only fit OLM Hikari headlights. As of February 2021, we've added Black Out material with air egress channels, which makes installation easier and prevents bubbles from forming.
INSTALLATION
Keep a hair dryer or heat gun handy for installation. Wash your hands and clean the area. Prepare some soapy water (a drop of dish soap or a bit of hand soap in a cup or bottle of water - more water than soap). You can apply it to the back of the overlay and the lens. This lets you move the overlay around and squeegee out air bubbles once it's in place. We use our fingers to avoid scratching the material.
Apply the overlay and align the larger part first. Then check the smaller top area. Once you're satisfied, start pushing out water and air bubbles. You can make small adjustments, and a little heat makes it easier to position the vinyl exactly where you want. Just don't get it too hot or you might damage the vinyl. Work your way to the end of the top portion and push down any vinyl hanging over the lens edge.
Using these Sticker Fab OLM Hikari Headlight Smoked/Black Out Overlays is a great way to change the look of your 2015 - 2021 Subaru WRX/STI. First, gather a hair dryer or heat gun, wash your hands, and clean the headlight area. Make some soapy water with more water than soap. Apply it to the back of the overlay and the lens. This will help you move the overlay around and get rid of air bubbles. Use your fingers to avoid scratching the material. Start by applying the overlay and aligning the larger part. Then check the smaller top area. Once you're happy with the alignment, push out the water and air bubbles. You can make small adjustments, and a bit of heat will make it easier to place the vinyl right where you want. Just be careful not to get it too hot or you'll damage the vinyl. As for maintenance, simply clean the overlays with a mild soap and water solution. And remember, these overlays only fit OLM Hikari headlights.
